Whether you are avoiding gluten because of health reasons, or because you are interested in learning more about the myriad of grains available to us, this workshop is for you!
Join Zita Steyn, West 16th founder, cookbook author and holistic chef, in the Studio at West 16th for a hands-on Gluten Free Bread Baking Masterclass.
This masterclass is for anyone who suffers from a gluten allergy or sensitivity, or someone who is cooking for a gluten free household, and is disappointed in the taste of and long list of ingredients in commercially available gluten free breads. There are many naturally gluten free grains and pseudo-grains that can be used to bake delicious sourdough and 'quick bread' loaves, and in this class you will learn more about these and their nutritional values. We will also talk about binders that can be used to replace the role of gluten in traditional loaves, and learn more about the role of sourdough in baking bread.
